Reconnecting With Education and Culture

When Aaron first joined the Helping Hands programme, he faced significant challenges. He refused to engage in school and was reluctant to participate in the programme, a situation that reflected deeper struggles with motivation and connection to his education.

Fast forward a few months, and Aaron’s story is one of transformation and resilience. With the guidance of Helping Hands and his mentor, Simone, Aaron began to find value in consistency and creativity. He is now regularly attending school and eagerly looks forward to his appointments with Simone. Their sessions have not only provided him with support but also a space to explore cultural and personal growth.

Recently, Aaron accomplished a major milestone by creating his own didgeridoo, a meaningful activity that helped him reconnect with his cultural heritage. Inspired by this achievement, he’s now excited to start on a new project creating cultural artwork, showcasing his growing confidence and enthusiasm for creative expression.

Aaron’s story reflects the core values of Helping Hands and BEST Community Services—to empower individuals and guide them towards realising their potential. By fostering trust, respect, and creativity, Helping Hands is helping young people like Aaron take confident steps forward in their journeys.
