BEST Employment Ltd is a not-for-profit company that provides a range of employment and community services. Our status as a Public Benevolent Institution and registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) assists us in this process and keeps our focus on projects that assist disadvantaged and impoverished sectors of our community.

 

BEST has been changing communities and lives for more than 25 years across the New England North West and Far West Orana regions of NSW and Darling Downs and Granite Belt regions of Southern Queensland.

Our experienced and passionate staff work very hard to achieve our vision, that ‘BEST will develop and support independent, thriving, and resilient communities throughout regional NSW and QLD’ by delivering a high-quality service that empowers thousands of people each year to address employment, mental health, training and other welfare-related needs.

Our vast range of programs and services target people with a disability, jobseekers, employers, Indigenous community members and our youth.

BEST Employment operates across the New England, North West and Far West Orana regions of NSW and the Darling Downs and Granite Belt regions of Southern Queensland. BEST currently delivers services across more than twenty sites including  Broken Hill, Dubbo, Coonabarabran, Wellington, Narromine, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Armidale, Glen Innes, Tenterfield, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Warwick, Stanthorpe,  Goondiwindi, Walgett and Lightning Ridge.

Our offices are open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. For urgent matters outside these hours, please call our toll-free number 1800 660 660 and leave a message – we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Employment Services

Workforce Australia provides one-on-one support to help you find work and develop job-ready skills. Eligibility is typically determined by your employment status and individual circumstances. Contact us on 1800 660 660 to discuss your specific situation and determine if you're eligible for our employment assistance programmes.

Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) is an Australian Government initiative that helps people with disability, injury, or health conditions prepare for, find, and maintain employment. If you have a disability or health condition that affects your ability to find or keep work, you may be eligible for DES support. Our team can help identify your strengths, develop job skills, and find suitable employment opportunities.

NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to improve their independence and quality of life. BEST Community Connections is a registered NDIS service provider supporting adults with disabilities who have moderate to high support needs across the Inverell district. To determine your eligibility, we recommend contacting the NDIS directly or speaking with our team on 1800 660 660.

Community Services

The BEST Community Shed is open Monday to Friday 9am to 2.45pm and Saturday from 9am to 11.45am. Donations are welcome at anytime during these hours.

BEST Community Services provides a range of programmes including:

1. Education and School Engagement (EASE) programmes

2.  Casework Support for youth under Youth Justice supervision

3. Domestic and Family Violence support

4. SecondBite food distribution programme

5. Community sewing groups

6. Homework centres for primary school children

In addition, the BEST Community Shed provides sponsorship donations to organisations within the Inverell local area. Application forms can be found on our website.
