Giving back to our community

aWith fundraising efforts on the decline due to the financial hardship of COVID-19, it is with great joy the BEST Community Shed has made two donations to help those helping others in our community.

The Shed donated $2000 to the Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group, who assists with all types of women’s cancers, as well as children up to the age of 13.

“We have had a lot more calls for help this year in the Inverell area. A lot more women who have been diagnosed need to know we are here, and we can help.” said Carol from the Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group.

Speaking from experience, Carol is a breast cancer survivor going on four years now, and says this group was a great support in her time of need.

“Instead of feeling like you are isolated, they help women feel like they are not on their own and that they are going to get through it, one day at a time.”

If you, or someone you know, has experienced breast cancer or is currently going through this process please reach out to the Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group.

Meanwhile, the Shed continued their generosity with a $5000 donation to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.
